Description
Compa - Darker Observations EP
Recognized internationally for his *dark, atmospheric music*, he strips back the sound with his minimal, percussionist drum sequences and heavy-hitting sub-bass of sonic frequencies. Compa first caught many people’s attention after his debut live set on the world-famous Get Darker TV live in London, beginning his set with one of the tunes he is famous for having produced, his refix of the Digital Mystikz classic – Anti-War Dub.
Founder of the *Wax club* night and one of the last remaining vinyl DJ’s, Compa still regularly cuts his music on dubplates, supporting the foundations and roots of his sound. You will only ever hear his music properly when he plays live, straight off acetate via turntables, mixed with Youngsta-esque precision.
Landing his debut digital release early 2011 after just months of producing music, ‘Dreams’ & ‘Them Dogs’ came out via Australian label Inna Riddim, appearing at No. 02 in Juno’s international best sellers chart in the first week of the music being available. Since, Compa has been lucky enough to become a resident at Manchester’s most recognized club night Just Skank, playing alongside Pinch, Mala & Coki, Chef, Cyrus, Kromestar, Cluekid, Kryptic Minds and many other of the most influential producers of the 140 sound over the last 6 months alone.
